How do I volunteer for the Soup Kitchen ? -- You can call the Soup Kitchen (770-214-5055), or just show up by 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday of the last full week of each month. Please click on the Calendar tab to see the dates.
Do I need to bring anything? -- Just bring a smile! If you would rather not wear a hairnet, please bring a ball cap to wear.
What will I do? -- Sandwiches are prepared and bags of lunches for shut-ins are readied for delivery. Help is needed in the kitchen where our delicious hot lunches are made. Sometimes canned goods need to be sorted, items to give away need to be bagged...there is always something that needs doing! The "extra" Mondays beginning January 10, 2011, will not include bags of sandwiches; therefore, not as many volunteers are needed.
What about children volunteering? -- Children under 15 need to be under the supervision of an adult--parent, teacher, Scoutmaster, etc. No one under 16 may work in the kitchen area. We ask that groups call the Soup Kitchen to schedule a time to volunteer, and that groups be limited to 10 people.
